Made to measure

A Bodice Drafted to You

Every pattern in this collection begins with your measurements, not a standard size. You enter your details once through a guided measurement guide saved to your account, and the bodice block is drafted to those precise numbers. The result fits your body from the first toile rather than requiring rounds of grading and alteration to close the gap between a generic chart and the person wearing the garment.

These drafts are designed for the home couturier who wants a reliable, repeatable foundation - one that reflects how their own body is proportioned rather than how a sizing committee imagined an average might be. Each pattern in this category is currently in development, and early access opens through the waitlist below.

Measurement profiles are saved to your account and reused across all bespoke patterns in this collection.

The patterns

Bespoke Bodice Pattern

In development

The core made-to-measure bodice block, drafted to your exact measurements. A clean, versatile foundation with bust, waist, and back shaping - ready to be traced and adapted for any bodice-based project in your wardrobe.

  • Drafted from your personal measurement profile, not interpolated from a size chart
  • Includes front and back bodice pieces with dart placement calculated to your proportions
  • Clear grain line markings and seam allowance options
  • Suitable as a stand-alone top or a base for further pattern development

Bespoke Bodice with Sleeve

In development

The full bespoke bodice block paired with a set-in sleeve drafted to match. The sleeve cap is shaped to your armscye measurement so the pitch and ease are already calibrated before you cut into fabric.

  • Set-in sleeve drafted from the same measurement profile as the bodice
  • Sleeve cap ease adjusted to your personal armscye depth and width
  • Includes guidance notes on fitting the sleeve into the armhole
  • Combines cleanly with the core bodice block for a coordinated foundation

Princess-Seam Bodice

In development

A bodice shaped entirely through princess seams rather than darts. The shaping is distributed into long, sweeping seam lines running from shoulder or armscye to hem - a construction that flatters a wide range of figures and lends itself to both structured and soft fabrics.

  • Shaping achieved through princess seam lines, with no bust or waist darts
  • Seam placement calculated from your personal measurements for smooth fit through the fullest points
  • Works well in woven fabrics where dart control is less desirable
  • A strong foundation for fitted jackets, bodices, and formal wear

Fitted Dress Bodice

In development

The bespoke bodice block extended below the natural waist to create a fitted dress foundation. Hip and high-hip measurements are incorporated so the silhouette follows the body continuously from shoulder to lower hip - ideal as a starting block for fitted and semi-fitted dresses.

  • Extends the bodice draft through the hip with shaping drawn to your hip and waist measurements
  • Waist-to-hip curve calculated proportionally, not applied from a standard ease table
  • Designed as a foundation block to be traced and modified for specific dress styles
  • Reduces fitting adjustments when working on close-fitting or structured dress designs
About made-to-measure drafting

Standard sizing works by taking a set of measurements that represent a statistical average and grading them up or down to fit a range. The garment is then adjusted on an individual body after the fact. Made-to-measure drafting reverses the sequence - the pattern is constructed from your measurements first, so the shaping, dart placement, and ease are specific to you before any fabric is cut.

This approach does not eliminate fitting entirely. Bodies are three-dimensional and measurements capture only so much. What it does is reduce the number of fitting rounds and give you a block you can trust to use again. The patterns in this collection are built on that principle: a reliable personal foundation rather than a corrected approximation.

  • One measurement profile, reused across every pattern in your account
  • Drafts are generated from first principles, not graded from a base size
  • Each pattern includes fitting notes relevant to made-to-measure construction
